Group C Opposite poem
I am teaching Poetry in Motion as a Master Class at M.A.P and my class GROUP C created a group opposite poem on Tuesday to Nothing is so beautiful as Spring by Gerard Hopkins.
Opposite Poem
Everything was not ugly like Autumn
Now flowers out square plummet
Short unpleasant and dry
Slinky stones blinded higher hells
that came around the silencing obis
that so rubs and hangs it's nose
It defends to ignore it's scream
The woody apple seed comes and withers
The Group also performed this poem with only a 3 minute rehearsal entitled Bob. I love exploring my favorite poems with their new and eager ears. They prove to me everyday that poetry is universal and ever changing.
I am learning so much from the students at M.A.P. I have never met a student body that is so supportive of each other's work. There have been countless times in class and production when a group of students are performing and their classmates will cheer them on as if they were watching a football game. It's a blessing to teach them and watch them explore stories. I can not wait to start directing a piece for the show!
